Abolition of Abortion
Issue: Although illegal in some states in the US, abortion is still taking place in Texas through the various means, including the abortion pill. Two bills are in legislation (Texas HB 2709 & SB 2198) to make Abortion illegal in Texas. Speaker Phelan assigned HB2709 to a committee with a Democrat chair who is celebrated by Planned Parenthood as one of their Legislative Champions. We want the bill re-assigned to a committee with a Republican chair so that it will receive a hearing.
Action: Support Texas HB 2709 (authored by Rep. Bryan Slaton & co- authored by Rep. Carrie Isaac) & SB 2198 (authored by Sen. Bob Hall)-
